Local shops 7 mins drive – bakery, butcher and local produce. Bread van delivers three times a week. Very friendly Auberge with bar and restaurant within walking distance.
Autun Unspoilt town with Byzantine cathedral, St Lazare. Roman remains include a complete amphitheatre, arches and a temple to Janus. Excellent museum, 19thC theatre, town hall and twice-weekly markets. There is also sailing, swimming, horse riding and range of shops and restaurants, railway and bus stations.
The Morvan has some of the most ancient unspoilt woodland in Europe with rivers, waterfalls and lakes suitable for exploring and enjoying nature. Lac de Setton - 20 minutes away - has swimming, sailing kayaking, pedaloes, cycling and all outdoor pursuits. The Grande Randonee path goes past the house and is suitable for short and long distance walks. Potteries, restaurants offering delicious regional produce, local crafts available. Cross country skiing possible in winter.
La Bourgogne The beautiful vineyards of Burgundy are 30 minutes drive and it’s possible to come back with a very red nose.
Available all year round, prices include linen, electricity and wood. Booking deposit – 25% is required. Full payment 4 weeks before start of holiday
